FEATURED LITERATURE: FREE ON THE INSIDE: Stories of AA Recovery in Prison features 50+ stories by sober members of Alcoholics Anonymous who have experienced AA in prison - while either currently serving, formerly incarcerated, or as outside AA members carrying the message inside. Carrying the message of recovery into institutions has long been a critically important aspect of service in AA. These stories are great for alcoholics looking for recovery in prison and for those who want to help them.

NEMDAA INTERGROUP NEWS: Congratulations to the new Officers of the Northeastern Maryland Intergroup Council: Chairperson: Brandon S. of Early Bird; Secretary: Steffani M. of Daily Reflections; and Treasurer: John F. of Sobriety on Friday. We are delighted to welcome you and thank you for your commitment to this important service for our members and the still sick and suffering alcoholics we will help.
From Rex, the outgoing NEMDAA Chair My time as Intergroup Chair has come to an end. It is with bittersweet emotions that I wish to thank all of the Officers, Committee Chairs, Office Staff & Volunteers, My Sponsor, Spiritual Advisors, and Fellowship members for their support and active participation over the past 2 years. We have come through a Pandemic together, stronger than ever. As described in our literature, when World War II broke out, they wondered if AAs would stand up to the test. They did, and so did we! And we flexed together using Zoom and Hybrid meetings, like mentioned in our big book, “Modem-to-modem or face-to-face“, continuing to carry the message…”life on life’s terms”. Lastly, I would like to thank my beautiful wife for her support of me standing and commitment to this position. It certainly helped with my sobriety and re-emphasized “service before self”. I couldn’t have done it without her!! Take care and see you around the rooms. Love ya! Please direct any questions to me at Rex@nemdaa.org or at Office@nemdaa.org. Rex, Love in Service
