. . . watching out for anger and resentments

"Hostility, resentment, anger - whatever word you use to describe this feeling - seems to have a close tie-up with intoxication and maybe even a deeper one with alcoholism. . . resentment is a luxury that, as alcoholics, we cannot afford. For us, all anger is self-destructive, because it can lead back to drinking. . . when we begin to get teed off at something," we can "pick up the phone and talk about it to our sponsor or other recovered alcoholics."

ANNOUNCEMENTS

GROUP NEWS:

Daily Reflections Meeting at Nesbitt Hall in Port Deposit is having a live band and Lasagna. $5.00 donation at the door. November 27th at 2 PM.

Three Legacies will celebrate it’s 41st anniversary on Tuesday November 29th at 7 pm with food and fellowship followed by a speaker meeting at 8 pm. All are welcome.

December 7th join Joppa Twelve Step in celebrating their 47 year group anniversary . . . Fellowship at 6 PM and Meeting at 7 PM.

Just for Today will not be meeting December 8th due to church activities.

New Year's Eve Alcothan Rising Sun Group 7 PM-12 PM. Pot luck dinner. Bring a dish if you wish. West Nottingham Presbyterian Church, 1195 Firetower Rd, Rising Sun.

DISTRICT NEWS:

MOVIE NIGHT – District 28 will host a movie night Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 7 pm, Bel Air United Methodist Church, 21 Linwood Avenue, Bel Air, MD, Room 202, (Second floor). We will be showing “Bill W., a Documentary About the Co-founder of AA”. Snacks will be provided, so come out and join us for this informative film.

District 11 will be having a Holiday Pizza Party on Friday, December 9th at Bethel Lutheran Church, off of route 40, behind the McDonalds, in North East MD. Pizza at 6:00 PM followed by the district meeting. All are welcome!

District 30 needs your involvement in service! Elections for the 2023-2024 term (DCM, Alternate DCM, Secretary, and Treasurer) will be held at the next monthly meeting on December 14th at 7 PM on Zoom. The meeting link can be found on the Intergroup website. Feel free to reach out to steffani@nemdaa.org if you have questions about district service.

District 28 is sponsoring an Alcathon on Christmas Day at the Mann House. Meetings will be at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00. Food and coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring a dish if you wish.

INTERGROUP NEWS:

Tickets are now available for the Northeast Maryland AA Intergroup New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance to be held December 31st at the North East United Methodist Church Hall in North East from 7 pm til Midnight. Dinner, speaker, and dance with a DJ to follow. Tickets are $25 each and available through various committee members and at the Intergroup office. For details call the Intergroup office or email committee chair Michele C., michele@michelechynoweth.com. Next committee meeting will be on Friday December 2nd at 7 pm, at North East UM Church, all are welcome.

Website & Technology Committee. Please join us for the Website and Technology Committee Meeting on December 1st at the Intergroup office. We’ll start at 1 PM. We’ll be meeting a vendor who will be giving us different opportunities for Point of Sale Processing – check, credit cards, pay pal, etc. . . . come and join us.

Finance Committee - Budget Meeting December 5th at 7 PM. Meeting will be online and documents can be found on the EVENTS PAGE.
