THANKSGIVING NEWS:

Please join the Early Bird Group for our annual gratitude meeting at Northeast United Methodist Church in Northeast Maryland at 8:30 AM - Thanksgiving Day 11/23. This is an open meeting, family and friends are encouraged to attend. Refreshments are served and all are welcome.

Thanksgiving Alkathon at Grace Reformed Episcopal Church hosted by District 30. Food & Fellowship begins at 11 AM, meetings to begin at noon. Meetings will be every other hour with food in-between them from 11AM until 9PM. Main courses will be provided, bring a dish if you wish. Alcathon Flyer. Bel Air Women's Big Book will not be meeting on Thanksgiving Day at noon.

Just For Us Guys will not be meeting on Thanksgiving Day at 5:30 PM.

Depth and Width will not be meeting on Thanksgiving Day at 6:15 PM.

Pursuit of Happiness will not be meeting on Thanksgiving Day at 6:30 PM.

Any Lengths will not be meeting on Thanksgiving Day at 7 PM.

The Just For Today group is meeting on Thanksgiving day. St Agnes Catholic Church 150 Queen street, Rising Sun. 7 PM. Use back entrance.

DISTRICT NEWS:

District 11 - District 11 officers were due for rotation and an election was held at the last meeting on 11/10/2023. Pete P of North East Friday night group was elected DCM; Caleb T of the Rising Sun Monday Night group was elected Alt. DCM; Pat E of the Solution for Living Group was elected Secretary; and Maggie O of Pursuit of Happiness was elected Treasurer. Please congratulate all for taking on this important service work.

District 28: On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, District 28 held elections for new officers. Effective January, 2024, our new Trusted Servants will be: District Committee Member (DCM): Brian M. (Forest Hill Friday Night) Alternate District Committee Member (Alt DCM): Matt O. (Gates of Insanity) Secretary: Jennifer E. (Jarettsville 12 Step) and Treasurer: Scott O. (Rule 62).

CHRISTMAS DAY ALCATHON - District 28 will be holding a Christmas Day Alcathon at Harford Community Church, 2504 Creswell Road, Bel Air, MD. Meetings will be from 9 am to 5pm (every other hour). Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and coffee provided. Bring a dish if you wish. Join us to celebrate the gifts of Sobriety!

INTERGROUP NEWS:

Ready to Ring in the New Year once again? The Intergroup is hosting an AA New Year's Eve Dinner/Dance once again this year from 7:30 pm - 12:30 am at the North East Methodist church hall which will include a catered dinner, desserts, noisemakers, a photo booth, and dancing with a DJ playing all your favorite hits and a "ball drop" to ring in the New Year! Tickets are once again only $25 per person and are now available through the Intergroup office, ticket sellers and online! Hurry, only 120 tickets available. Institutions Committee

The Institution Committee is looking for Home Groups to sponsor meetings being taken into sober houses, rehabs & other institutions. For more information email Kyle at kyle@nemdaa.org.


Service

Archives Committee Office Hours will continue on most Fridays, 1:30-3 PM, beginning on December 1. If you want to offer a couple hours of service you are welcome. Please check with the office or email Archives before coming in to make sure someone from the Archives Committee will be there. Email Mark F at archives@nemdaa.org.

Never too early... NERAASA...If you are planning to attend Northeast Regional AA Service Assembly (NERAASA) 2024 being held in Hershey, PA, Feb. 23-25, we understand that the rooms are filling up quickly! Registration for NERAASA 2024, hosted by Area 59 Eastern PA, is open at www.NERAASA.org/register. Rooms may be reservedby calling Hershey Lodge at (717) 533-3311, 7 days a week, 8AM - 8PM. Ask for the room block for NERAASA 2024 when you call the Hershey Lodge. Incoming Area Officers and Area Service Committee Chairs are encouraged to attend, as are DCMs and GSRs. Great way to learn about service.

Upcoming Holidays. Please let us know if your group will be meeting or closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. During the holidays we have many out of state members attending our meetings and many local people who may just need a meeting. The Meeting Guide App is updated directly from our website for our meetings. Please help us give our fellowship the most updated information.
