The Secret

"I hung around the A.A. program for eight years before I finally surrendered to a Higher Power and A.A. Each time I walked through the doors (usually drunk), I was greeted with open arms, and throughout each meeting I understood that 'these people' had found something I wanted: The Secret to staying sober."

Final Thought:

"Today, I understand what a gift it is that I got sober...I try to give back by tangible acts of kindness that say, 'You are important' to newcomers. I want them to see that the A.A. way of life and the relationships we build in recovery are gifts in and of themselves, even beyond the all-important gift of staying sober one day at a time."
