Office News

Featured Literature: Grapevine's "AA IN THE MILITARY" is a collection of Grapevine stories by members of AA who have served in the military. The book begins with letters from the troops during World War II, when Grapevine first became a vital tool in keeping soldiers sober and connected to AA. The chapters that follow are filled with stories of experience, strength and hope from people who served their country on land, sea and air. These personal accounts illustrate the challenges alcoholics in uniform encounter, often under difficult circumstances, far from loved ones. The book concludes with a powerful selection of stories by our sober veteran members, titled "Coming Home." This book, as well as many others, are available at the office.

On June 10, 1935, Dr. Bob had his last drink and that day marks the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous. Since so many meetings are still closed, and groups have limited ability to celebrate our founding, Grapevine and La Viña will help mark this important date by giving everyone free access to our websites for two weeks. You will be able to read and listen to stories from current and past issues, access our sobriety calculator, read the daily quote, learn how you can contribute your story, and find ways to serve others using Grapevine and La Viña magazines. Please be of service and share this news with other members. For free access from May 26th through June 10th visit aagrapevine.org and visit aalavina.org

Final Thought:

"Under these compulsions of self-preservation, duty, and love, it is not strange that our Society has concluded that it has but one high mission - to carry the A.A. message to those who don't know there's a way out. "
